Starting from the concept of amorphous bonding in thermoreversible composite materials (and beyond), the project aims to develop an innovative, low-cost, user-friendly device to support the design and execution of structural component repairs.
The tool facilitates in-situ repairs of typical Made in Italy products and is based on joining/repair technology (patent application for industrial invention no. 102023000007884 filed by BALTA on 21/04/2023).
High-value repair in support of a circular and sustainable Made in Italy promotes an economy where products are restored, reused and recycled, reducing waste.
This approach is especially valuable for high-tech industrial sectors but is also widely applicable to traditional industries, supporting lower energy consumption and responsible consumption habits.
The RE-PRINT project introduces additive or hybrid manufacturing technologies to enable even structural repairs using eco-sustainable materials, thus extending product life.
RE-PRINT aims to promote the core principles of the circular economy by introducing:
The goal is to extend product lifespan while ensuring low cost and reduced environmental impact.
To achieve this, the project will develop and validate — on a laboratory scale — an integrated system including:
