PLM4C

Product Lifecycle Management For Circularity A dashboard for circularity and sustainability assessment and monitoring
PROJECT LEAD

Ing. Danilo Martino

CONCEPT

The PLM4C project aims to develop an innovative framework for creating and managing a dashboard of indicators to assess circularity and sustainability specifically for the industrial automation sector.
It combines the integration of data and metadata from heterogeneous sources with advanced Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
The framework will centralize the collected data within a Data Lake, which will feed a dynamic and real-time dashboard of sustainability and circularity indicators — enabling advanced decision-making support.

CONTEXT

PLM4C operates in the domain of Sustainable Manufacturing, emphasizing the value of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) in industrial automation.
PLM plays a key role in supporting holistic models to evaluate and validate circularity and sustainability by applying a systemic data management approach across all product lifecycle stages.
By integrating PLM technologies with circularity and sustainability indicators, the project supports companies in adopting more responsible practices, improving efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and advancing the transition to a circular economy.

OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED RESULTS

The main objective is to define an innovative framework for the development and management of a dashboard to measure circularity and sustainability in the industrial automation sector.
This framework will be supported by PLM methodologies and tools for collecting and managing product lifecycle data.

Expected outcomes include:

  • Design of a lifecycle-based dashboard of circularity and sustainability indicators tailored to industrial automation
  • Development and validation of a prototype model for data acquisition and management, based on multi-source technical data generated throughout the product lifecycle
