CONCEPT

The project envisions the creation of an interactive, iconographic, and 3D dashboard that allows both administrators and customers to visualize catalog products, sales statistics, and shared warehouse logistics in a highly intuitive way. Through simple gestures, users will be able to manage product configurations and monitor sales and logistics data.
By translating physical goods flows into information flows, the platform aims to reduce waste and improve usability through a fashion-aligned 3D interface that is both user-friendly and efficient.

CONTEXT

The MetaWarehouse project originates from the need to innovate logistics management within Emme Evolution, a company operating in the fashion sector.
Leveraging the potential of the Metaverse, the project aims to develop a virtual warehouse and showroom, supporting a "pull" order system that reduces inventory costs and CO₂ emissions from transportation.
This digital transition contributes to the group’s sustainability goals while offering a more interactive shopping experience and a more efficient and eco-conscious supply chain.

OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED RESULTS

The project aims to design and prototype MetaWarehouse, a B2B/B2C logistics and showroom platform in the Metaverse that improves logistics processes and reduces environmental impact.

Key objectives include:

  • Logistics optimization: Apply a pull-based logic to ensure goods are moved only when ordered, reducing storage costs and increasing efficiency.
  • Environmental sustainability: Cut carbon footprint by minimizing physical movement and waste, in line with lean production principles.
  • Enhanced user experience: Develop an interactive 3D dashboard to manage product catalogs, sales data, and warehouse logistics with ease.

Expected results:

  • ER1: Develop a Virtual Reality (VR) system for showroom creation and warehouse management in the Metaverse, increasing TRL from 1 to 4 and offering a scalable tech solution for the industry.
  • ER2: Validate Metaverse technologies through real-world case studies, with academic contributions expected in top conferences (e.g., IEEE VR, IEEE ISMAR).
  • ER3: Generate positive impacts on the company and the Made in Italy ecosystem, with a scalable model adaptable to different product categories and business sizes.
  • ER4: Hire PhD researchers, promoting knowledge transfer and contributing to local innovation and social development.
