CONCEPT

DESK(T) is a multifunctional and sustainable desk designed for smart workers and tourists. Made from recycled materials, it integrates eco-friendly technologies, such as a thermo-hygrometric solution using lichen, to support energy savings and create a comfortable working environment.

The project combines innovation and sustainability to offer an immersive, low-impact workspace, aligned with the needs of responsible tourism and the development of rural Italian areas.

CONTEXT

The DESK(T) project responds to the growing demand for multifunctional, eco-friendly and adaptable furniture solutions, especially for smart workers and tourists in rural areas.

The widespread adoption of remote working has led to increased mobility outside urban centers, creating new needs for sustainable furniture that supports productivity in natural settings. DESK(T) aims to meet these needs through recycled materials and green technologies that reduce environmental impact.

OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED RESULTS

The project aims to design a multifunctional, sustainable desk tailored to the needs of smart workers and rural tourism. Main objectives include:

  • Environmental sustainability: Develop a desk entirely made from recycled, low-impact materials, contributing to the circular economy and reducing the use of virgin resources.
  • Technological integration: Incorporate eco-friendly technologies, including energy autonomy and a lichen-based thermo-hygrometric system to improve comfort and reduce the need for air conditioning.
