The project aims to build simulation environments, defined as virtual digital living laboratory, that accompanies the designer’s path during the development of highly customized, modular configurable furniture system for work and rest spaces. Particular focus will be done on functional furniture elements and their configurability within the pressurized living space landscape, also taking into account the lighting aspect. The results will mainly be: – The development of a digital demonstrator with the aim to support the design process and abilities to configurate the space regarding new human factors (well-being, experience, emotion, behavior, physics…) of each crew member and to simulate the usability movement flows created by furniture elements and different configurations. – The implementation in the digital demonstrator of control functions for testing combination of equipment modules and their usability, based on the specific design approach and new strategies of the process development pipeline. One of the opportunities will be the development of a pipeline in the process of CAD models for simulation processes. – Guidelines for designers to better integrate the design phase in the overall project development, considering the well-being of the user and materials with a view to circularity.
